Imagine Laserworks Helps Relieve TMJ Disorders

Description:

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is located on each side of the head, in front of the ears, where the lower jaw meets the skull and allows for talking, chewing and yawning. Signs and symptoms associated with TMJ disorders may include pain or tenderness of the jaw, aching pain in and around the ear, difficulty or discomfort while chewing, facial pain, locking of the joint (making it difficult to open and close the jaw), headache or uneven bite. TMJ disorders can create a clicking or popping sound when opening the mouth or chewing, which may be accompanied by limitation of movement.

Causes:

TMJ disorders may be caused by erosion of the joint, arthritis, trauma, and overuse syndrome. In many cases the cause is unclear.
