Imagine Laserworks – Treatment for Sciatic Nerve Pain

Stimulation of key auricular ear points with a laser is used to safely restore energy communications and enhance healing; not to block pain signals.

Description:

The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body. The term “sciatica” refers to pain that radiates along the pathway of this nerve—from the spinal cord in the lower back, down the buttock and the back of the leg. Sciatica is not a condition, but rather a symptom of another condition involving the nerve such as a herniated disk. Sciatica symptoms may include pain, numbness or muscle weakness, and a tingling or pins-and-needles sensation along the nerve pathway.

Causes:

Sciatica often occurs when the nerve root is compressed in the lumbar spine. Other causes of sciatic pain may include lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, piriformis syndrome, spinal tumors, trauma, and sciatic nerve tumor or injury.

Complications:

Complications of sciatica may include loss of feeling or movement in the affected leg.

How A French Neurologist’s Amazing Sciatica Discovery during the 1950’s

Could Put an End to Your Sciatica Today

Could your EAR be the key to ending your sciatica misery?

It’s quite possible, thanks to the brilliant research of French neurologist,

Dr. Nogier Paul Nogier, who noticed a strange scar on the upper ear of

some of his patients. He found that all of them had been treated for sciatica pain.

The same area of each of these patients’ ear had been intentionally burned (cauterized)

in order to relieve their sciatica and low back pain.

Dr. Nogier conducted a similar procedure on his own sciatica patients and found that their back pain was also reduced. He then tried other means of stimulating this “sciatica point,” including the use of acupuncture needles, and found that they helped with the sciatic pain too.More brilliant was how Dr. Nogier took this one observation and developed it into a comprehensive science called Auricular Medicine.

Dr. Nogier theorized that if an area of the upper external ear is effective in treating low back pain, maybe other parts of the ear could treat other parts of the body.

The ear represents the whole anatomical body, but in an upside down position. Dr. Nogier’ s theory was that the outer ear — the auricle, could be compared to an upside-down human fetus; the head represented by the lower ear lobe, the feet at the top of the ear, and the rest of the body in-between. This model was first presented to naturopathic practitioners in France in 1957, then spread to acupuncturists in Germany, and finally was translated into Chinese. The Chinese adopted this model in 1958. The earliest use of ear acupuncture points dates back to ancient China.

The inverted fetus pattern that is represented on the auricle is referred to as somatotopic inversion. The word “soma” means “body” and the word “topic” refers to a topographic “map.” The auricle is a map of the body in an inverted or upside down pattern.

Auricular Therapy is a specialized “cousin” of traditional acupuncture. It is a scientifically documented procedure performed worldwide. It involves the stimulation of specific reflex points of the auricle (external ear) for the treatment of health conditions in other parts of the body.

It does NOT require acupuncture needles. Various methods are used to stimulate the reflex points including: electrical or laser stimulation silver beads, herbal seeds, or manual pressure.

There are several differences between ear reflex point stimulation and traditional acupuncture.  Auricular therapy has been used all around the world with tremendous success for many decades, but is poorly known in the U.S.

Imagine Laserworks uses a combination of Cold Laser Therapy and auricular therapy successfully with many cases of sciatica. Sometimes it is the only treatment necessary, while in other cases, other drugless and non-surgical methods are needed.

We use this high-tech form of “Energy Medicine” to treat the causes of pain on the CELLULAR LEVEL. All the cells of our bodies communicate with each other through what’s known as the INTRACELLULAR MATRIX. This is an energy pathway that has been established in the field of quantum physics. The point is that cold laser is used to safely restore energy communications and enhance healing—not to block pain signals.

Auricular Therapy is yet another part of our “arsenal” of pain-relieving,

natural health techniques and technologies.

The Piriformis Muscle: A Hidden Cause of Sciatica

Many sciatica sufferers are told that the nerves in their lower back are being “pinched” or compression, resulting in the sciatica (pain down the leg). This IS a common cause, which can effectively be treated with chiropractic adjustments.

Another major cause of the same sciatic pain is tightness of a muscle called the PIRIFORMIS. It’s a pelvic muscle that can constrict the sciatic nerve.

In our practice, if we determine that your sciatica is caused in part, or completely by dysfunction of your piriformis muscle, we treat it with easy stretches combined with the amazing, sophisticated technology called Cold Laser Therapy.

It’s critical to examine the entire structure of your body for possible causes. Tightness of the piriformis muscle can result from spinal imbalances that could be traced all the way up to the top of the neck.

Treatment of sciatica may require various medical disciplines. Proper diagnosis and conservative natural treatments have resulted in outstanding relief for countless patients.

Getting relief from sciatic pain does not always require medication, surgery, or painkillers.  Imagine Laserworks offers

Laser Therapy, other methods are Physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic treatment, and acupuncture have all been shown to be highly effective when it comes to reducing sciatic nerve pain.

Various Imagine Laserworks Centres offer Light Therapy to alleviate pain.

Imagine Laserworks by combining the ancient art of Acupuncture with 21st Century Laser Technology to help reduce symptoms of sciatic pain by releasing blocked energy which allows the body’s natural energy to flow again. With proper energy flow, the person’s health returns
